WELCOME TO THE LAWRENCE HOMEPLACE | 3 ACRES IN FUQUAY-VARINA
Here is a chance to own a little slice of Wake county history and make it your own! Located just right outside of Fuquay-Varina city limits this park-like setting is a rare find.
The owner’s have been told that some rooms of this 3 bedroom, 2 bath home date back to pre-Civil War. A long circular drive leads you to this nostalgic farmhouse with over 2000 sqft of history. Wide-plank heart of pine flooring graces the gorgeous Sunroom and can be found in a couple of additional rooms. The home will need your personal updating and possibly structural work too, but imagine the possibilities!
The sprawling grounds have grapevines, pear and pecan trees, brick walk-ways and a beautiful brick patio plus a gazebo. As if this isn’t enough the property has a large “Barn” with room for a woodstove and a masonry fireplace and even a mini-kitchen. The family remembers their father making monthly lunches for the “old Cupboard crew” in the barn; brunswick stew, grilled cheese sandwiches, and pig pickins’.
In addition there is a large packhouse on the property and a vintage smokehouse. This photo shows the old homeplace when there were still dirt roads and all was farmland. The date is unknown.
This photo shows the Homeplace in the 1980’s. My has our city grown!
One of the fondest memories of the family is their customary Sunday before Christmas dinner and decorating the home for Christmas. Mr. Lawrence also provided an annual New Year’s Eve Breakfast for the community!
The Lawrence family was a family of sharing and community love and they would love to share their homeplace with someone that will love it as much as they have.
