Being of Portuguese descent, Rosemary Pereira grew up in a very traditional home as her parents would keep the culture alive with Portuguese food. When her and her husband Helder Pereira moved to North Carolina they felt something was missing. Their culture! It was something they would see at home but wanted to bring that to the community. That’s when in August of 2017, Little Portugal was started. It began in their own home but has grown over the years expanding the business to have it’s own location near downtown Varina.
