Pumpkin Picking, Porch Decorating & Fall Fun: Your Local Fuquay-Varina Guide

There is something about the first pile of pumpkins appearing outside a local farm stand that makes fall feel official – even if Fuquay-Varina is still pretending it is summer by lunchtime.

Whether you want the full pumpkin-patch experience, a quick stop for mums and hay bales, heirloom pumpkins for your front porch, or someone else to handle the decorating entirely, you can find it close to home. From longtime local favorites to newer fall experiences, here are some of the best places to find pumpkins and seasonal décor in and around Fuquay-Varina in 2026.

Needmore Farms

Best for: Pumpkin variety, fall photos and a classic local tradition
Location: 6502 Sunset Lake Road, Fuquay-Varina

If you have lived in Fuquay-Varina for a while, there is a good chance that picking out pumpkins at Needmore Farms is already part of your fall routine.

During the season, the farm market transforms into a colorful autumn display filled with pumpkins and gourds in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors. It is a great place to find the classic orange carving pumpkin, but it is especially fun for anyone searching for white, green, warty or unusually shaped pumpkins to layer together on a porch.

Needmore Farms also carries seasonal produce, plants, locally made products and fall décor. The displays and photo opportunities make it feel like more than a quick produce run – but without the admission price or all-day commitment of a larger attraction.

Local tip: Pumpkin selection changes throughout the season, so follow Needmore Farms on social media for current inventory, special activities and updated hours before visiting.

Polly’s Petal Patch

Best for: Flowers, affordable fall décor and a peaceful farm stop
Location: 835 Cokesbury Road, Fuquay-Varina

Pumpkins and flowers might be the prettiest fall combination imaginable, and Polly’s Petal Patch gives you both.

This local flower farm’s seasonal Fall Shop carries pumpkins, mums, hay bales, corn stalk bundles, Indian corn, wooden pumpkins, garland, candles and local honey. As of fall 2026, pumpkins range from $4 to $12 depending on size, with mums beginning at $6. Hay bales are $7, while corn stalk bundles are $6.

Depending on availability and the farm’s schedule, visitors may also be able to enjoy the Petal Bar, seasonal flowers, farm animals or one of Polly’s special events. It is an especially sweet option for anyone who wants a slower, more relaxed fall outing instead of a full amusement-style pumpkin patch.

Visit the Polly’s Petal Patch Fall Shop online for the current selection, prices and booking information.

Logan’s Garden Hut

Best for: Mums, porch plants and creating a polished fall display
Location: 1004 Old Honeycutt Road, Fuquay-Varina

For the people who cannot simply place one pumpkin beside the front door and call it finished, Logan’s Garden Hut is ready for you.

The hometown garden center is a convenient place to shop for seasonal plants, colorful mums, pumpkins, pottery and the finishing touches that can turn a front step into a full fall display. Logan’s also offers professional porch-pumpkin decorating for anyone who wants an Instagram-worthy entrance without hauling and arranging everything themselves.

The garden center’s 2026 Pot-Oberfest Fall Festival is scheduled for October 8, 9 and 10, making it an especially fun time to visit. Regular hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Logan’s is closed on Sundays.

McLean Farms

Best for: A laid-back family farm experience and a one-day fall festival
Location: 5490 River Road, Fuquay-Varina

Located in the Harnett County portion of Fuquay-Varina, McLean Farms is a local, family-owned working farm offering pumpkin picking, corn mazes, a play area, jump pad, nature trails, picnic areas and seasonal events.

Their 2026 Pumpkin Festival takes place on Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. General admission is free, while an $18 activity wristband for ages three and older includes the main attractions and a festival pumpkin. Activities are expected to include corn mazes for different ages, hayrides, barrel rides, bounce houses, farm games, character meet-and-greets and unlimited rides on the farm’s new mega slide.

Food trucks and local vendors will also be on-site, and the farm has its own ice cream shop and nursery. It is a great choice for families who want plenty to do without paying admission simply to enter the festival.

Because regular pumpkin-picking hours and activities may vary, follow McLean Farms on social media for the latest updates before heading out.

Naylor Family Farm

Best for: The full all-day pumpkin-patch experience
Location: 6016 US-401, Fuquay-Varina

If your ideal fall day includes a pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayride, farm animals, slides and enough activities to thoroughly wear out the children, Naylor Family Farm is the big one.

Naylor’s 2026 fall season runs from September 19 through November 1. Admission is $24 for guests ages three and older, while children two and younger enter free with a paying adult. Each paid farm pass includes more than 20 attractions and one pumpkin from the patch.

The experience includes a roughly 30-minute hayride, corn maze, petting zoos, barrel train, corn cribs, jump areas, giant slides, Toddler Town, duck races, a 120-foot pirate ship and several other farm attractions. Additional activities such as gem mining, animal feed and the apple cannon are available for an extra charge.

October hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Since many families spend most of the day at the farm, comfortable shoes and advance tickets are strongly recommended.

The Front Step Co.

Best for: A professionally decorated fall porch with no hauling required
Serving: Fuquay-Varina and surrounding Triangle communities

Maybe you love a porch overflowing with pumpkins—but do not love shopping for them, loading them into the car, arranging them and eventually figuring out what to do with them after Thanksgiving.

Fuquay-Varina-based The Front Step Co. offers curated fall porch packages using pumpkins, mums and seasonal greenery sourced from local farms and nurseries. The team selects, delivers and styles everything at your home, with packages currently beginning at $295.

Optional end-of-season collection is also available. Collected pumpkins are given to local farmers to feed livestock, making the cleanup process much less wasteful.

This is certainly the splurge option on our list, but it is a unique way to support a local business while creating a memorable seasonal entrance for your home, storefront, event space or real estate listing.
