Fuquay Varina Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet 2015

chamber banquet photoFRONT PORCH REALTY recently attended this popular F-V Business Community event held this year at Bentwinds Golf & Country Club.   Besides enjoying great networking opportunities and plenty of food, a surprise tribute was made to our beloved police chief, Larry Smith, who will be retiring March 31, 2015 after 10 years of service to Fuquay Varina. Chief Smith has been instrumental in Fuquay, integrating all parts of our community, especially various children and teen programs like the  Police Explorer Program.  This program provides teens an introduction to law enforcement careers and the highly successful Teen Day Fuquay, a distracted driving program targeted at Fuquay-Varina teenagers. Wow, we will miss him!

All of the year’s volunteer efforts were acknowledged as well as lots of awards given for special individuals and businesses. See all of the recipient winners here on the F-V Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.abbr logo

Dynamic Sports and Fitness Club in Fuquay Varina

clubworx banner Front Porch Realty learned lots of exciting news while attending  CLUBWORX  Fitness Club  FV Chamber Business After Hours meeting last evening.   Not only does Clubworx offer all of the fitness equipment, training and classes you could ever desire in addition to a full size basketball court and indoor and outdoor pools;  They are getting ready to add a huge addition of a Crossfit center! My family has been a member, as well as Front Porch Realty as a corporate member, of Clubworx since they were located in the “old downtown Cooley’s building”.  How wonderful and exciting to see Clubworx grow as Fuquay grows and support this family friendly facility! Clubworx Welcome Home, laura

Commercial Real Estate Going Fast in Fuquay Varina

Commercial Real Estate Bus Tour

Commercial Real Estate Bus Tour

I had the privilege of hopping on the Fuquay Varina Chamber of Commerce’s 5th annual Commercial Bus Tour last week.  What a fantastic opportunity to ride along with investors and other brokers from Raleigh and other cities of NC.  l was pleasantly surprised to see such great interest from so far away!  Fuquay is booming as we saw from our tour of vacant lots and office/retail space available all amid the construction of new buildings currently going up right before our eyes.   We concluded our tour at Wake Technical College’s culinary restaurant, what a treat! commercial bus tour book cover     Contact Front Porch Realty today for your private tour of Fuquay Varina’s commercial real estate as well as any other real estate need!

Hello Fellow Business Owners of Fuquay Varina, FBLA As many of you may know, I have a passion for helping the schools and children of our community.  Recently, I responded to an announcement in one of the latest Chamber Thursday Forecasts about Fuquay Varina High School needing some help with their Future Business Leaders of America Club. I had the PLEASURE of meeting with their group two weeks ago to talk about resume writing and interviewing.  I learned of how much these High School students would love to do an unpaid (or paid!) internship with a Fuquay Varina business. I will be offering an internship with my company in the Spring and would love to see some more local business owners do the same.  These kids are extremely intelligent and mature and I believe any of them would be an asset to any of your businesses. If you can find a way to offer any kind of internship in the coming year please get in touch with the FBLA chair, Mr. Lee.  Mr. Lee and his group have been a pleasure to work with and I know you will find it as rewarding as I have!

Teen Day in Fuquay

teen day 1 Fuquay-Varina held their 4th annual Teen Day Saturday, May 10 at the Fuquay-Varina Community Center and South Park. What an awesome program put on by The Town of Fuquay-Varina Police Department!  As the mother of a middle schooler, it was great to hear that this was a “cool” event that all the middle schoolers and some high schoolers were attending.  For the Town and our Police Department to take such an initiative investing in our future drivers is huge!  There was free pizza, free t-shirts, and driver simulation activities to show teens what it feels like to drive while impaired or texting.  The music and DJ were great; they delivered a low key, non-preachy, message to the young adults about how serious this matter is.  My teen even came home with her friends telling me that they signed the pledge banner to Never Drink or Text While Driving.   Thank you Fuquay-Varina Town Police; FRONT PORCH REALTY will definitely help sponsor this program next year!
