chamber banquet photoFRONT PORCH REALTY recently attended this popular F-V Business Community event held this year at Bentwinds Golf & Country Club.

Besides enjoying great networking opportunities and plenty of food, a surprise tribute was made to our beloved police chief, Larry Smith, who will be retiring March 31, 2015 after 10 years of service to Fuquay Varina. Chief Smith has been instrumental in Fuquay, integrating all parts of our community, especially various children and teen programs like the  Police Explorer Program.  This program provides teens an introduction to law enforcement careers and the highly successful Teen Day Fuquay, a distracted driving program targeted at Fuquay-Varina teenagers. Wow, we will miss him!

All of the year’s volunteer efforts were acknowledged as well as lots of awards given for special individuals and businesses. See all of the recipient winners here on the F-V Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.abbr logo

TMJTI am so excited about one of Holly Springs newest restaurants; The MASON JAR TAVERN.  I have been there 3 times in the last few weeks and I never go out to eat!

There are way too many items on the menu I am dying to try like the Pimento Cheese Shrimp and Grits, Chicken and Waffles and the S’more in a Jar.  The Black Bean Tacos and Pimento Cheese Sliders were delicious!  I even got two meals out of the Turkey Delicious Melt.  Every meal has been prepared with the freshest ingredients and the service has been delightful.

Check out their menu here.mason jars

With an outside patio area and a well-stocked bar, what a fun dining experience for date night or take the family! Tell them Front Porch Realty sent you.

To no one’s surprise 2014 was a great year for our Triangle real estate market! All of our local markets showed an increase in average sales price as well as an increase in price per square foot and decrease in days on market.  That means homes are selling fast!

4th Q 2014 Home Sales by City

This shortage of homes for sale has helped our sellers to be able get out from under water and have the confidence again to sell. Mortgage rates stayed extremely low for the year which was a key factor in fueling buyer activity.

See how 2013 compared to 2014 and how a few of our Fuquay Varina local neighborhoods shaped up in 2014.  This should give you a good picture of what’s to come in 2015!

Front Porch Realty learned lots of exciting news while attending  CLUBWORX  Fitness Club  FV Chamber Business After Hours meeting last evening.   Not only does Clubworx offer all of the fitness equipment, training and classes you could ever desire in addition to a full size basketball court and indoor and outdoor pools;  They are getting ready to add a huge addition of a Crossfit center!

My family has been a member, as well as Front Porch Realty as a corporate member, of Clubworx since they were located in the “old downtown Cooley’s building”.  How wonderful and exciting to see Clubworx grow as Fuquay grows and support this family friendly facility! Clubworx

The Mill For those of us that love to stay right here in Fuquay to meet a friend for a quick coffee or a glass of wine after work, it’s here!  Thank you to the local couples that have invested in a beautiful building in downtown Fuquay Varina and took the time, resources and energy to transform it into an absolutely beautiful meeting spot.  I truly could not believe I was in Fuquay when I walked in!

Not only can you enjoy fresh baked goods from StickBoy Bread Company up the street; there are fruit, cheese and cracker platters available as well. You can even order from Anna’s Pizza and the Meeting Corner across the street and they will deliver their delicious Cuban cuisine. The Mill

Visit the MILL soon, before the secret is out!
