Local Easter Celebrations This Weekend!

Spring is finally here and Easter is coming! You know here at Front Porch Realty, how much we love to support our local community. This weekend will be packed full of events and we have curated a list of options for you if you needed some ideas. The list focuses on the Fuquay-Varina and Holly Springs areas. From sweet hopping events to Sunday services.  Piney Grove Baptist Church
  • Sunrise Service – The Break of Dawn (Sun, April 4th 6:45am – 7:30am) Start your Easter with a sunrise service outdoors! It’ll be a cozy morning. Watch the sun rise as you enjoy the music. Breakfast will be served right after the service to top it off.
  Fuquay-Varina UMC
  • Easter Egg-Venture (Thurs, April 1st – Sun, April ^th) RSVP for some ultimate fun (safely of course). FVUMC have created an event for the family to enjoy but keeping them safe at the same time! It’ll be a six day event to space out time for everyone and not over-crowd.
  • Sunrise Service on the Front Lawn (Sun, April 4th 6:45am) Join the community for the morning sunrise on Easter Sunday. You will need to bring your own chairs and be sure to wear comfortable shoes for when walking over the grass.
  Sunrise United Methodist Church
  • Easter Alive (Sun, April 4th 8:30am – 10:30am) Feel Easter come alive as you experience significant events that led to Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. After the service there will be a fun craft activity and an egg hunt for the kids.
    The Vineyard Church of Holly Springs
  • Easter at the Vineyard (Sun, April 4th 11am) Enjoy Easter Sunday service outdoors in celebration of the resurrection of life along with worship. Then to finish such a beautiful morning. Lunch will be served by Annie Bell’s Catering!
Evangel Church
    • Easter Egg Hunt (Sat, April 3rd 12pm – 1pm) This egg hunt will be great for the kids to enjoy! If you already had plans for Sunday, this won’t get in the way. It should be warm out this Saturday so go get that sunshine. Spring is here!

Holly Springs Fall Celebration — HollyFest

Fall around here means local fun for all. And that’s no different when it comes to the HollyFest coming up Saturday, October 26th from 10 am – 4 pm at Jefferson L. Sugg Farm Park at Bass Lake in Holly Springs! Come on out for this Fun, Fall, Family-Friendly and Free event! There will be: *Live and local entertainment all day long *Arts and crafts for the shopping enthusiast *Kids Zone with inflatables and rides *Children’s corner with activities and games *Flavors and tastes to make every palate happy Check out the Town of Holly Springs website HERE for specific vendors! Run the Quay is in its 15th year!

Are you ready to Run the Quay? Yes, it’s true this Chamber of Commerce sponsored Annual event has been going on every year for the last 15 years, it’s a tradition! How about the brand new Downtown Cooldown, happening at the same time in downtown Varina? Well, here’s all the info you need to get ready! The Chamber is anticipating over 1,000 runners this year! Check out the race routes, and come out to cheer on your favorite brave runners! Then, head on over to Varina to Celebrate. There will be something for everyone at this FREE family friendly event including food trucks galore, Live music, kids activities like a bounce house, Fhairy Sparkles Hair, yard games, and even the Stormy Mascot from the Carolina Hurricanes! HollyFest – A great Holly Springs Tradition and fun for all!

Saturday, October 27th from 10 am – 4 pm Sugg Farm at Bass Lake, Holly Springs The Town of Holly Springs joins, businesses, churches and civic organizations throughout the Triangle to offer up this fun community celebration! There will be live entertainment the whole day, arts & crafts vendors, a children’s corner with games, activities, inflatables and rides, fire trucks and police cars on display. As you can tell, Mary is passionate about what she does, is talented and has over 35 years experience. We love having her on our team! Mary is local to both of our office locations and has been taking our new listing photos for years and so it made sense that we would call on her when we were ready to launch our new website earlier this year! Mary was pivotal in the creation of the “Our Towns” page and highlighting all that our wonderful towns have to offer. She’s always willing and ready on a moments notice to take our new listing photos as well photos of new businesses in town, so all can be added to our website quickly. No one sells Fuquay-Varina and Holly Springs like Front Porch Realty!

Holly Springs Book Festival Featuring Local Authors

Saturday, Sept. 29, 11 a.m.-6 p.m Holly Springs Cultural Center More than 25 adult and children’s authors, presentations and readings, panel discussions, and more! Come out this Saturday to meet many authors including friends of Front Porch Realty Erin and Deek Rhew! Deek will be participating in a panel on thriller novels. A look back at the 2014 Triangle Real Estate Market

To no one’s surprise 2014 was a great year for our Triangle real estate market! All of our local markets showed an increase in average sales price as well as an increase in price per square foot and decrease in days on market.  That means homes are selling fast! 4th Q 2014 Home Sales by City This shortage of homes for sale has helped our sellers to be able get out from under water and have the confidence again to sell. Mortgage rates stayed extremely low for the year which was a key factor in fueling buyer activity.
